Florida marriage registries have updated their marriage records to show that a married man named John Nevadaha was legally married to his fiancée on July 2, 2017.
He was also married to another woman.
John Nevalda, 38, is the husband of former Florida House Majority Leader John D. Nevadas, who is serving a 20-year prison sentence for accepting a bribe from a man he knew in exchange for sex.
Nevadas has been in prison since April 20, 2017, for accepting $1,000 from a woman he met while serving as an aide to Republican Sen. Jeff Clemens.
He served a two-year sentence and is scheduled to be released in 2019.
He is expected to be eligible for parole after serving three years.
A state official confirmed that the marriage license had been updated to include the woman’s name and date of birth.
Nevea and his fiancé, Kristy, met in Florida in 2012.
John was previously married to the woman in 2014.
The couple divorced in 2015.
John has been living in Miami, Fla., since August 2017.
